This year also the time of Emmy is here. And the top awards are up for grabs again. But this year there is the single thing that is different from the previous year. This year Game of Thrones doesn’t make it to Emmy awards even after this season broke appraisals records. GOT season 7 is seen by over more than 10 million live viewers all across the world and over 30 million through 3rd party sharing websites like torrentz, pirate bay etc. Despite having Inferno/ice breathing dragons, and a time traveler why doesn’t Game of thrones doesn’t get a single nominee for Emmy this year?
The real reason behind not getting a single nominee from the infamous GOT is that it doesn’t air in time to be eligible for this year’s awards.
The qualification time period this year's Emmy is scheduled between June 1 and May 30. But Game of Thrones season 7 didn’t finish airing until July 16, 2017, which is far behind the deadline dates.
Earlier seasons have been debuted in the month of April or early May, which enables GOT’s previous seasons to be part of previous year’s Emmy awards. GOT have been nominated for a total of 100 awards, out of which it took 38 home, including 6 consecutive wins for Best Drama Series.
Despite the fact that Game of Thrones isn't nominated this year, HBO still confident about getting the Best Drama Series Emmy for Westworld, which bagged over 22 nominations this year. HBO is also expecting to win the Emmy for Best Comedy Series for the third year in a row for the series Veep.
The official Primetime Emmy Awards 2017 is set to be air on Sunday, September 17 on CBS in the evening. This year’s host mantle is given to Stephen Colbert and presenters including Oprah, Nicole Kidman, Jim Parsons, and Reese Witherspoon will be seen in their best outfit.
