After Subsequently changing the whole telecom industry with its mind-boggling offers and free unlimited calling spectrum, JIO has finally entered the budget feature smartphone market of the country. A leaked report suggested that JIO is planning to launch a new feature phone soon in the market which is not only price efficient but also rich in features. Speculation is that JIO will be unveiling it in its annual board meeting on 21st July. The leaked Photos of the device suggested that it will be in a range of INR 500 and will come with 4G voice feature.

Two websites TechPP and TelecomTalk hinted that the feature phone is expected to launch under LYF brand only with a much more affordable price that other feature phones in the market.

The device is said to have a 2.4-inch display with physical keypad buttons at bottom of the screen along with a separate torchlight front side of the phone.The phone comes with a rear end 2-Megapixel Camera with a decent image capturing qualities. It has a RAM of 512 Mb and also supports and external memory card of 4GB Internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via external microSD card. Since there are no concrete details about the inbuilt processor, experts are suggesting that it would feature a low-end Qualcomm processor which supports 4G VoLTE feature.

Due to the motive of increasing Jio subscribers this phone will only support Jio 4G sims exclusively, other operators SIMS won't work in this model. But reports pointed out that, there will be two SIM card slots available for use. One will be exclusively used for JIO’s 4G SIM card and another one will support other operators 2G SIM card.

This phone is reportedly going to stand out from rest of the phones due to its ability to support JIO apps like JIO Camera, JIO TV, JIO Cinema, and a few more. The device is going to run on KAI OS which is basically a version of Firefox OS and also have a separate app store called KaiOS Plus for apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, Hike and other light weighted apps. The device is further said to come with a voice assistant for easier handling.
