The popular messaging and photo sharing app Snapchat has gotten itself into new charred waters. There has a huge backslash in all over the social media about the ‘poor countries like India and Spain’ comment by CEO of the company.
The Thomas’s unverified comments over the issue have been reported by a well known news website.
According to the website, during in a meeting with Mr Anthony Pompliano, Snapchat’s CEO reportedly interrupt the ‘applications growth’ report laid by Mr. pompliano and said "The app is only for rich people. I don't want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain".
Multiple allegations were filed at US court in Jan by Mr Pompliano regarding some misinformation. According to the filed lawsuit, Anthony claims as a former employee that Snapchat purposefully inflated user data and has been giving wrong stats to the advertisement companies.
Snapchat has claimed all the allegations were false and they were trying to bring transparency to the matter. Company’s head attorney added that the suits were filed on the basis of pure speculation by their former employee.
Once the Variety report surfaces online, #Snapchat became the top most trending topic on Indian Twitter on Saturday. Users of all ages including famous personals has slammed and trolled Thomas for his uninformed comment.

On Sunday, a spokesperson of Snapchat responded to the comments and said "This is ridiculous. Obviously Snapchat is for everyone! It's available worldwide to download for free."
